The Georgia Aquarium has a wide variety of marine life and some very interesting and interactive activities for visitors. One of the largest aquariums in the world, it houses over 100,000 aquatic creatures, including the largest shark in the ocean.

The Atlanta Botanical Gardens offers a lovely space that you can stroll through and spend a few hours of your time. Highlights of this Atlanta attraction include a variety of well-designed gardens, including the ceremonial flowers and majestic trees that frame Midtown Atlanta's urban landscape.

The birthplace of rights campaigner Martin Luther King Jr. includes 501 Auburn Avenue, which dates from 1895; and Ebenezer Baptist Church at 407-413 Auburn Avenue, in which he and his father ministered.

Some of the most fascinating exhibits at the museum, which opened in 1992, are the giant dinosaur statues at the entrance and the dinosaur skeletons in the Great Hall.

Built for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, this public park in central Atlanta is the Georgia Aquarium. It is the venue for weekly free concerts and seasonal events, including the Christkindle Christmas Market and the Chinese Lantern Show.

Located just northeast of downtown Atlanta, Piedmont Park is the oldest and largest park in the Atlanta metro area. The field was the site of a battle at Peachtree Creek during the Civil War.

The Atlanta History Center is a large complex that includes the Atlanta History Museum, the Centennial Olympic Games Museum, the Swan House, the Smith Family Farm, and the Kennan Research Center, as well as several historic gardens.

Zoo Atlanta has another fun family activity for you. Established in 1889, the zoo has undergone a major transformation in recent years, which has propelled it to the top of the list of animal attractions in the United States.
